NIZAR AHAMED ABUBACKER
CEO
Mr. Nizar Ahamed holds a Master of Business Administration (Marketing). With a strong academic background Mr. Nizar is well-founded in his concepts and application of principles. His passion in education has brought him around the globe with more than 18 years of teaching experience in countries like Malaysia, Singapore, Sultanate of Oman, India, Uzbekistan and China. He also has industry experiences in services marketing and customer care in communications industry. Currently, he is the CEO of AAC.
Andrew Lawrence Carter
Head of Academic Department
Andrew Carter has ten years of experience teaching students from all corners of the world. He has taught business courses and English as a second language. His educational credentials include an Industrial Engineering Degree from Purdue University and a Masters in Business Administration from Maryville University in St. Louis. “Looking back at my engineering career I now realize that what I enjoyed most about it was teaching others how to be more productive or safe or efficient. Some of the most fulfilling parts were working with people to create productivity solutions that had general acceptance of all stakeholders and to improve working conditions.” Now he continues to follow his passion for teaching, taking it to the next level by helping people communicate their ideas better. Currently, he is the Head of Academics for AAC.
Lijush Chakkarakunimel
Programme Leader (Tertiary and EFL) cum Senior Lecturer
Mr. Lijush C.K completed his Bachelor of Tourism in 1998 and Master of Tourism in 2000. He is trained in hotel and airlines and has worked as a lecturer for two years before joining the Hotel industry in 2002 gaining experience with various five star hotels in India and in Dubai, UAE. Tourism (Planning / Development) is his forte and he is well versed in all Hospitality operations.
Rita Raj
Programme Leader (GPC and O Level) cum Lecturer
Ms. Rita has over 20 years of experience in teaching English. Graduating from York University, Canada, she has taught in Canada, Indonesia and locally in Singapore. Her international experience has allowed her to have a good understanding of second language learners of English. She is currently pursuing her Masters at NIE to gain knowledge in current practices and effective teaching methodology to better guide her students.
Melanie Pereira
Academic Lecturer
Ms. Melanie obtained a Diploma in Business from Temasek Polytechnic. She achieves excellent results from her students. Her enjoyable and energetic lessons encourage her students to respond in an enthusiastic and productive way. Melanie aims to instil discipline while maintaining a very good rapport with her students.
Manjeet Kaur
Academic Lecturer
Ms. Manjeet obtained a Diploma in TESOL from the London Teachers Training College (LTTC) and has taught with the College since 2000. Her unique teaching style aims to maintain discipline in the classroom while earning the respect and admiration of her students. With her teaching skills, she has successfully prepared many students for entering Singapore Government Schools.
Dwayne Chan
Academic Lecturer
Mr. Dwayne graduated from Brandon University with a degree in Computer Science and obtained a Diploma in TESOL from the London Teachers Training College (LTTC) and various credentials in teaching including training in Teaching IELTS by British Council UK. Indulging in his pedagogical passion, Dwayne has been teaching EFL and IELTS since 2000.
HARDING CARY LAWRANCE
Associate Lecturer
Mr. Cary comes from the UK, and graduated from De Montfort University in Leicester with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Media. Since attaining his CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) he has been teaching general, conversational and business English to students from all over the world. As a language learner himself, Cary understands that the classroom should be a space where students can be free to study, practise and make mistakes in a fun and supportive environment. Let’s learn!
Jenny Yeung
Associate Lecturer
Ms. Jenny Yeung has been active in the higher education industry over the last 12 years. Her academic qualification includes ACTA certification, an MBA, a Bachelor Degree of Economics (major in Management) and other pedagogical training such as TESOL and a Dip. in Montessori. Her experience allows her to work closely with international and local students alike to impart her knowledge and expertise in most business and management related modules.
DOMINGO MA JENNIFER BONIFACIO
Academic Lecturer
Ms. Jennifer graduated with an MBA major in Human Resource Management from National College of Business Arts Philippines. She is an ACTA certified trainer and has more than 23 years of experience in teaching Hospitality and Tourism Management programmes. Her relevant work experience in the hospitality industry particularly in handling resort hotel operations, conferences, events and banquet management, F&B food court outlet’s supervision, supermarket and retail operation, and cost control is highly recognised in the college.
Viknesh Mohana Das
Associate Lecturer
Mr. Viknesh has a Bachelor of Arts in English from SIM University. He has more than 9 years of teaching experience. He has also taught in MOE schools as a relief teacher for more than 4 years. With his expertise and experience and immense passion for teaching , Mr. Viknesh can nurture and inspire students to attain their full potential.
TAN KHIANG MENG
Associate Lecturer
Mr. Tan Khiang Meng graduated from National University of Singapore (NUS) with a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Science degree in Industrial & Systems Engineering majoring in quality and reliability. He was also a certified Quality Engineer (CQE) with ASQ. In addition, KM is ACTA trained and certified and is currently engaged by a local Polytechnic as an Adjunct Lecturer conducting lectures and tutorials in Mathematics & Statistics related modules.
LEE XUANHAN, LANCASTER
Associate Lecturer
Mr. Lancaster Lee graduated from Murdoch University with a Double Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Finance, and has been teaching since 2015. He also holds certificates of the executive programme in Individual Income Tax and Property Tax from the Singapore Tax Academy. He has over 8 years of professional experience in Accounting, Taxation and Corporate Secretarial which includes a 4.5 years stint in the inland Revenue Authority of Singapore.
THOO CHIN AUN
Associate Lecturer
Mr. Thoo Chin Aun graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) from the National University of Singapore, a Master of Business Systems from Monash University, Australia and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Education (with credit) from the National Institute of Education, Singapore. He teaches Physics, Mathematics and Lower Secondary Science and has 9 years of experience teaching local as well as International students taking the GCE ‘O’ Level examinations. His goal in education is to help students achieve their purpose of furthering their studies in Singapore and overseas.
THOMAS TAN YIOK TUAN
Associate Lecturer
Mr. Thomas Tan graduated from National University of Singapore with Bachelor's Degree in Science (Chemistry) in 2004. He has taught in the local ITE College East as a Full-time Lecturer in Higher Nitec in Chemical Technology for 5 years. He has great passion in teaching, sharing knowledge and industrial experiences. He was a detailed-oriented QC/QA Chemist with over 10+ years of experience, and hands-on experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis.
SAUTHARA SUBRAMANIAM S/O VELU
Associate Lecturer
Mr. Subra has been involved in education since 1986, and in enrichment since 1996. Mr. Subra is a Freelance Trainer with several local and international institutions - conducting both academic and non-academic courses, such as Math, Sciences, Language and Media Production. He has enveloped several courses for various enrichment clients. Some notable organisations he has worked with include BMC International College, Idea 21 Pte Ltd and Nanyang Educational Consultancy.
DANIEL WONG SING CHONG
Associate Lecturer
Mr. Daniel believes that education is the most powerful tool a student can have to change the world. With more that 7 years of experience, Daniel is still continuously learning to enrich himself as well as those around him. His speciality is in the areas of math and science. In his years of teaching, he has taught in various government primary and secondary school as well as students from non-profit organisations such as CDAC and Mendaki.
SITI YARIYATI BINTE MOHAMED
Associate Lecturer
Ms. Siti Yariyati graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) with a Bachelor of Business Administration (Merit) Degree and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Singapore Institute Management University (UNISIM) in 2009. She was awarded the Deloitte & Touche Gold Award (Top Student Award). She has been teaching Mathematics and Business Studies for the past 15 years with a focus on Upper Sec E and A Maths. She has a strong passion in instilling a love of Mathematics in her students. A former student of Raffles Girls and National JC, she is friendly and approachable and very committed to helping her charges aspire to be the best they can be.
Judy Koh Bee Hoon
Associate Lecturer
Ms. Judy graduated with a BSc degree from National University of Singapore. She has extensive experience in training and has been an associate trainer with ITE conducting the BEST English Modules as well as with PSB academy and CITI (currently known as BCA Academy) for certificate and diploma courses.
She was also a teacher with the Ministry of Education in Singapore. Currently, she divides her time between corporate training and academic training. This enables her to maximize her industry and academic experience in her current role as a trainer.
KOH LI LI
Associate Lecturer
Ms. Samantha Koh has a Math and Computer Science degree from the National University of Singapore. She has worked as a programmer, database administrator and an IT trainer in Delgro for more than 6 years. She was the IT ISO internal auditor and trainer in NEC Singapore for about 2 years. She then began teaching Math, English and Science lower and upper primary in tuition centres, and giving private tuition. She also has relief teaching experience in several MOE schools for more fhan 10 years. She has been teaching Math in AAC since 2016 and her mid primary class secured more than 40% passes in the recent Feb ‘’18 AEIS exam.
CHUA MEI LING
Associate Lecturer
Ms. Chua Mei Ling holds a merit degree (Bachelor of Science) majoring in Mathematics after graduating from National University of Singapore. Her teaching experience in private schools has enabled her to prepare and teach students in preparatory course (Mathematics) for admission to MOE schools. She specialises in Mathematics tutoring for more than 10 years. Her students include those preparing for AEIS as well as from MOE schools and international schools.
TAN HWEE KIONG TIMOTHY
Associate Lecturer
Born and bred in Singapore, Mr. Timothy has been involved in the hospitality and education industry for more than 20 years. His work has taken him all over Asia providing training and consultancy services. Prior to this he spent several years in Australia managing hospitality businesses. Passionate about teaching and enthusiastic about sharing his knowledge and experiences with his students he believes that every student can be motivated to learn and as such, stretch their minds to their fullest possible potential!
YEO PIN KEVIN
Associate Lecturer
Mr. Kevin Yeo has nearly ten years of experience in education and has experience working in both hotel and food & beverage organizations including Orchard Hotel, Edo Sushi, Pizza Hut, Singapore, Select Service Partners which operates Popeye’s Chicken & Biscuit and North Border Bar & Grill. He is ACTA certified and holds a Bachelor of Science in Travel Industry Management from Hawaii Pacific University, USA and a Master of Business Administration majoring in Hospitality & Tourism Management from Tourism Institute Australia.
SHERIN BANU BATCHA
Associate Lecturer
Ms. Sherin holds an MBA from United Business Institutes, Belgium (2009) and a Masters in Computer Application from Madurai Kamaraj University, India (2003). With over 14 years of experience she has taught bachelor level business modules in Stamford College (Malaysia), Gulf College (Gulf of Oman), Auston Institute of Management (Singapore), and Academies Australasia - Australian Universities (Singapore).

Her experience is vast with four conference presentations which have been published in Society for Researchers into Higher Education, International Technology, Education and Development (INTED), National Institute of Education (NIE) and International Conference on Education and Innovation. In July 2015, her research on Singapore Tertiary education was published on DOAJ, through the Ireland Journal of Academic Practices.
