Mr. Nizar Ahamed holds a Master of Business Administration (Marketing). With a strong academic background Mr. Nizar is well-founded in his concepts and application of principles. His passion in education has brought him around the globe with more than 18 years of teaching experience in countries like Malaysia, Singapore, Sultanate of Oman, India, Uzbekistan and China. He also has industry experiences in services marketing and customer care in communications industry. Currently, he is the CEO of AAC.
James Boey
Academic Head
Mr. James obtained his bachelor degree from RMIT University (Australia) and MBA degree from the University of Leicester (UK). He possesses more than 30 years of experience in the electronics, semiconductor and precision engineering industries. His areas of expertise cover business development, marketing, production control, product design, procurement, logistics, finance, HR and admin.
As an entrepreneur, he started and managed a manufacturing operation in Penang for 6 years serving the semiconductor industry. During that period, he won the Enterprise 50 Award and the Emerging SMI Award.
James also provided consultancy services to some Singaporean companies in Guangzhou and Suzhou.
His academic career started in 2009 and has since delivered lectures in the areas of business strategy, entrepreneurship, marketing, and operations management. He had also managed collaboration partnerships with various UK universities.
Susan Mckenzie
Programme Leader (Cambridge Primary, GPC and O Level) & Lecturer
Ms. Susan is a London-trained lawyer from London School of Economics, University of London. She uses critical thinking skills to bring out the best in students. Her focus is always on the students and helping them to progress. Questioning, encouraging, expressing enthusiasm and building rapport are key features of her classes. She is the programme leader of the courses leading to admission to Singapore government schools, and the O-level programme which is a gateway to entry to the Singapore polytechnics and other courses. She looks forward to welcoming the students to AAC.
Lijush Chakkarakunimel
Programme Leader (Tertiary & EFL) & Senior Lecturer
Mr. Lijush C.K completed his Bachelor of Tourism in 1998 and Master of Tourism in 2000. He is trained in hotel and airlines and has worked as a lecturer for two years before joining the Hotel industry in 2002 gaining experience with various five star hotels in India and in Dubai, UAE. Tourism (Planning / Development) is his forte and he is well versed in all Hospitality operations.
Bennett Cheong
Mr Ben holds Postgraduate Diplomas in Secondary Education and Second Language Acquisition (TESOL) from the University of Otago. His experience include years of working with local and international students, in both government and private schools of New Zealand and Singapore. He uses his cross-cultural experience to effectively deliver his lessons, as well as to build rapport with his students. His goal is to serve the students, making sure that they achieve their best results.
May Mar Hlaing
Ms. May graduated from Wichita State University, U.S.A with Bachelor of Science in Biology/Biological Science and obtained a Professional Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education from SEED Institute, Singapore. She has been teaching English and Mathematics to students of different ages, starting from aged 3 to 12. Her academic knowledge, professional experience, and passion have prepared her to work with children from different cultural backgrounds and create a meaningful learning journey for young children. She is dedicated to support her students to reach their full potential by nurturing their areas of strength.
Melanie Pereira
Ms. Melanie obtained a Diploma in Business from Temasek Polytechnic. She achieves excellent results from her students. Her enjoyable and energetic lessons encourage her students to respond in an enthusiastic and productive way. Melanie aims to instil discipline while maintaining a very good rapport with her students.
Manjeet Kaur
Ms. Manjeet obtained a Diploma in TESOL from the London Teachers Training College (LTTC) and has taught with the College since 2000. Her unique teaching style aims to maintain discipline in the classroom while earning the respect and admiration of her students. With her teaching skills, she has successfully prepared many students for entering Singapore Government Schools.
Jenny Yeung
Ms. Jenny Yeung has been active in the higher education industry over the last 12 years. Her academic qualification includes ACTA certification, an MBA, a Bachelor Degree of Economics (major in Management) and other pedagogical training such as TESOL and a Dip. in Montessori. Her experience allows her to work closely with international and local students alike to impart her knowledge and expertise in most business and management related modules.
Associate Lecturer
Ms. Jennifer graduated with an MBA major in Human Resource Management from National College of Business Arts Philippines. She is an ACTA certified trainer and has more than 23 years of experience in teaching Hospitality and Tourism Management programmes. Her relevant work experience in the hospitality industry particularly in handling resort hotel operations, conferences, events and banquet management, F&B food court outlet’s supervision, supermarket and retail operation, and cost control is highly recognised in the college.

Mr. Cary comes from the UK, and graduated from De Montfort University in Leicester with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Media. Since attaining his CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) he has been teaching general, conversational and business English to students from all over the world. As a language learner himself, Cary understands that the classroom should be a space where students can be free to study, practise and make mistakes in a fun and supportive environment. Let’s learn!
Associate Lecturer
Ms. Sherin holds an MBA from United Business Institutes, Belgium (2009) and a Masters in Computer Application from Madurai Kamaraj University, India (2003). With over 14 years of experience she has taught bachelor level business modules in Stamford College (Malaysia), Gulf College (Gulf of Oman), Auston Institute of Management (Singapore), and Academies Australasia - Australian Universities (Singapore).

Her experience is vast with four conference presentations which have been published in Society for Researchers into Higher Education, International Technology, Education and Development (INTED), National Institute of Education (NIE) and International Conference on Education and Innovation. In July 2015, her research on Singapore Tertiary education was published on DOAJ, through the Ireland Journal of Academic Practices.
Rita Raj
Associate Lecturer
Ms. Rita has over 20 years of experience in teaching English. Graduating from York University, Canada, she has taught in Canada, Indonesia and locally in Singapore. She has also completed her Masters in Education from NTU. Her international experience has allowed her to have a good understanding of second language learners of English. She brings a wide knowledge of current practices and effective teaching methodology to better guide her students.

Ms. Chua Mei Ling holds a merit degree (Bachelor of Science) majoring in Mathematics after graduating from National University of Singapore. Her teaching experience in private schools has enabled her to prepare and teach students in preparatory course (Mathematics) for admission to MOE schools. She specialises in Mathematics tutoring for more than 10 years. Her students include those preparing for AEIS as well as from MOE schools and international schools.

Mr. Tan Khiang Meng graduated from National University of Singapore (NUS) with a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Science degree in Industrial & Systems Engineering majoring in quality and reliability. He was also a certified Quality Engineer (CQE) with ASQ. In addition, KM is ACTA trained and certified and is currently engaged by a local Polytechnic as an Adjunct Lecturer conducting lectures and tutorials in Mathematics & Statistics related modules.

Mr. Thoo Chin Aun graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) from the National University of Singapore, a Master of Business Systems from Monash University, Australia and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Education (with credit) from the National Institute of Education, Singapore. He teaches Physics, Mathematics and Lower Secondary Science and has 9 years of experience teaching local as well as International students taking the GCE ‘O’ Level examinations. His goal in education is to help students achieve their purpose of furthering their studies in Singapore and overseas.
Therese Michael Joseph
Associate Lecturer
Ms. Therese holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) in Early Childhood Education from University of Wales Trinity Saint David, U.K. With over 13 years of experience in managing and educating kindergarten students. She is aware of transitions that occur from kindergarten to primary levels and ease such transitions for effective learning process for young learners. Also, she believes in making learning experiences for young learners engaging, meaningful, and that every individual learner is unique and deserves to learn at his/her own pace and capability. With the additional qualification of Diploma in Leadership (Early Childhood Education) and adequate teaching experiences, she has mentored several Novice educators to provide quality teaching and sustaining the goal of teaching and learning to be fun but effective at the same time.

Ms. Siti Yariyati graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) with a Bachelor of Business Administration (Merit) Degree and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Singapore Institute Management University (UNISIM) in 2009. She was awarded the Deloitte & Touche Gold Award (Top Student Award). She has been teaching Mathematics and Business Studies for the past 15 years with a focus on Upper Sec E and A Maths. She has a strong passion in instilling a love of Mathematics in her students. A former student of Raffles Girls and National JC, she is friendly and approachable and very committed to helping her charges aspire to be the best they can be.
